    Help me identify this connector

Can someone please tell me the purpose of this connector?

It's located on the passenger side D pillar of my Avant. It looks like an antenna connector and something should be plugged into it, but my radio works fine.
I see that I have XM radio option. Is that what it's for?

    Thanks.

I don't know off hand. No doubt it is for something optional that was not used during factory assembly. It looks like there is a brown wire in the yellow connector, right? If that is the case, then it is a ground wire connected to chassis ground, FWTW. XM prep is a likely possibility.

A ground wire goes to that protruding bolt by the metal bracket. I just disconnected it temporarily while fixing the washer hose. But I don't see anything that should lead to that dark pink/fuchsia connector. I think my car actually has XM as I can see an XM barcode behind the driver's side hatch trim and I have a SAT button on the stereo.
I'll dig around ETKA sites to see if I can find this part. I couldn't see any obvious part number on the connector.

I checked the Avant hatch lid wiring diagram and I did not find a single terminal connector with a brown ground wire shown in the standard wiring diagram. That is actually evidence that connector is associated with XM, since the XM harness is not shown in the standard wiring diagram. The connector could also be a ground connection for an optional roll up sun shade.

That connector goes to the shark fin antenna. Mine was also not connected to anything when I pulled my shark fin when I vinyl wrapped my roof. It must be for certain radio options. My car is Bose with XM and did not use it. Only thing that comes to mind is maybe it was something for GPS for the 3.0 cars with the MFD nav...no idea. The yellow connector that diagnosticator referenced is the connector for the curtain airbag.

Thanks. It's good to hear that I'm not missing anything. Even in ETKA there are multiple diagrams of the sharkfin antenna: one has two wires and one has 4 wires leading to the sharkfin and the description just says connector for the aerial antenna. I think you're right that it's prewired for the various options like navigation or phone.
OK, time to put the hatch trim back together then and push those pesky clips back in.
