My 2016 S7 review video

So I wanted to do something a little different then what you normally see on the internet with car reviews. Some guy who has the car for 1 day and puts up a review. I wanted to review the car after 2 months and talk about the things I like, dislike and current and future mods. The video is way longer then I wanted but it just ended up that way. I don't really expect you guys to watch the video because you already have a C7 but just thought I would share.

Thanks for posting this! For someone like me who is waiting for their car to arrive, this is awesome. Especially since it's also in sepang blue with black optics.

The only feedback I have is that the audio is a bit muted in the second half of the video. Otherwise, this is a nice departure from the normal car reviews people post on Youtube.

Yeah, when I went for a drive I used my gopro headstrap which I had to use the housing and that makes the Audio crap. I tried to boost the sound as much as I could in post but yeah doesn't sound great.

What a terrific video. I think you and I are are probably in the same ownership timing, I have had my s7 for about 2 months as well. I've been playing with the idea of the resonates delete, but I was quoted a grand for that in Denver, I think I need to keep looking that seems high!
I lose sleep over tuning; I'm dying to do APR or something, but i have never done it before and I am paranoid about the warranty. My (now totaled) '14 RS5 has its transmission fail at 5,000 miles, was not tuned, and I could only imagine my angst had it been tuned.
Also like you, no matter how much I love my car I get tired of it after about three years, so not into spending a ton. I actually DID get a new steering wheel though specifically for the air leather and the Drive select button on the steering wheel,, as you pointed out its way easier just pushing the drive select button on the wheel and bouncing back and forth between modes. It shows up in the driver information display as well. I DO think you can get the buttons though, take a look at EUROPRICE ($325 gets you the buttons). I got my wheel from them. I opted for the RS7 performace wheel so I got the air leather (preferred over the smooth leather) and the drive select button that replaces the *).
The other mod I did that I LOVE is had a 9500CI radar detector installed, and there is a module made by a third party company that plugs in so the radar screen display is built into the instrument cluster, no physical screen. I LOVE the clean look and integration.

Glad you are enjoying yours. I too just smile when I drive down the rode. I need to consider the resonates delete again, and find it for $250. Great video. Here are Some pics of my mods :)

Thank you, yeah I had some time and wanted to put something together after the fact. I wish I had some better recording tools but I just kind of worked with what I had.

Yeah we seem to be in a very similar boat, love your car! Wow $1,000 for resonator delete, they were really trying to give it to you with that quote, its literally and hour maybe 1.5 hours worth of work so I would shop around. Well worth it and makes it really fun to drive it. I thought I was told that I would have to replace the whole steering wheel for the drive select button but maybe not. I will definitely look into that again now. Can you send me some links on your radar unit and everything you got for it? I am really interested in a unit like yours that is integrated into the car. I will keep you posted on the VRtuned piggyback that I am considering as well because if you have the same fear as me with something happening we would at least be better off with a piggyback as it would not be able to be detected once it is removed. I don't think the HP #s will be as good as a true flash but may be a good option. Thanks for the kind words!!!!

Thank you for sending me all of that, very useful! Yes it is way more throaty now. What I like is that you can really have your cake and eat it too! I like to drive most of the time in Dynamic, and when I do that it just sounds really aggressive, way more noticeable, but the other night me and the family were coming home from the movies and the kids fell asleep so I put it into comfort and though very boring to drive it was very quiet. My wife even commented "wow how is it not making all those noises now". So to me it has been hands down one of the best bang for your buck mods that is just plain fun.

I did a resonator delete plus replaced mid muffler with magnaflow and rear mufflers with magnaflow for $200 in labor, with custom cut pipes. $400 for parts and a custom exhaust for $600. , actually only $400, because a fellow audizine'r cut me a deal on the parts! PS. on my 3.0T Q5

I'm on the fence re the whole TD1/warranty debate as well, so for now l'll stick with the Roc-Euro and do a centre delete on the exhaust. I hope John gets his intake production problems resolved, so others can experience just how awesome it makes tha car sound!!

I get what you say about the parking cameras, although you only have to push a button to activate the forward cam (or select reverse on the box and then select drive) you would think on a car clever enough to tell you to close the window it could activate front parking below a certain forward speed.

On your lack of centre storage, you do know there are two storage areas below the centre arm rest right ?🤓

Yes I have!! That is probably next on the list but to do the Tag Motorsport ones its around $750 bucks for all emblems so I have been putting it off! But yeah I think if I matched the emblems to the wheels it would set it off!!!!! Also a glossy black would match the rest of the trim, so that would be nice as well, kind of torn on that right now.

750 for emblems. Lol. There's someone on here that removed his own and sprayed them and put them back on and it was awesome. Although it's time it was I believe 5o$ ( somewhere around there) for paint and 3m tape.

I did the front plate delete... it's a must. I also did my orange red reflectors and washing to get the 21" tsw like yours. My 7 is black with black optic so if I go gunmetal thinking yellow calipers or just do silver for some contrast. Can't decide 200% yet lol

Is the gunmetal on these wheels similar to the gunmetal wheel color on the 5 spoke rotor wheels from Audi? Not sure if your familiar.... I had those on my 14' A6 prestige. Thanks!

Nice video that was easy to relate to from a down to earth Audi owner vs a hyped tainted commercial review, Your color is awesome as are the wheels. I ended up with a 2016 RS7 Black on Black with a B&O stereo upgrade and 21 inch summer wheels. I bought 20's for the winter from Hartman which I also love. i have not touched anything other than the wheels and am really happy. Its hard to believe a car this fast can be a luxurious, technically savvy every day vehicle you can enjoy w the family or your buddies. I also went to the dealership expecting to buy an S6 and really like driving it but I agree with your assessment on the style. Enjoy!!
