WTB: Manual Avant

You'd think I was on the hunt for the holy grail. I am a long time car enthusiast and multi-VW owner (with one previous Audi Avant) looking for an Audi Avant with 3 pedals.

Preferably not a V8 equipped S4 and I don't like red or black cars.

I'm not looking for any crazy RS conversions or E85 Stage 3 monstrosities. I'll build it my way, thank you.

While I might sound picky, truth is some deals are too good to pass up and I might be willing to get a car with an Automatic or in Black. You think you've got something cool (wagon or hatch only) let me know. I'm hungry for a new toy after selling my Mk4 R32.

I live in Phoenix, but travel extensively throughout the US all year. I'll be in your neighborhood sooner rather than later. I'm very often in SD, LA and LV. I have travel points, so it's fairly easy for me to fly out, no need to ship, although west coast is preferred.

So if you have a C5, B4, B5, B6 (especially B6), B7, or whatever else might be out there in wagon form with a manual gearbox, here I am!

I saw a usp avant 6speed Quattro in sacramento or around that area clist today was clean with basic mods all tasteful from the looks of things. Was silver and not badly priced

Hey craymond, very interesting, will PM in a bit. I have a friend in Baltimore so that trip might work, but I can't realistically jump on it right away due to proximity and looks like you're looking for a quickish sale. I have a new baby (main reason I sold my R32 and looking for an Avant) so my trips away from home must be choreographed carefully, especially since it ain't exactly a business trip.

not sure how much you want to spend (I ask only because I am on the east coast), but I have a 2005 S4 dolphin gray 6mt avant with high miles you could get for half what some of the b6 avant 6mt are going for. Runs and drives dstrong with records back to the start ($20k). Chain not done, but you said you want to build it your way so maybe that doesn't matter.

Did you end up buying anything? I've really been pondering selling my 05.5 Moro Blue 2.0T Avant (manual, of course). It's currently sitting around 84K miles but I use it to commute from San Francisco to San Jose at least 3x a week. I bought it in Sept 2014 with 52K miles, so I took it from an extremely low mileage city runabout to an all-highway commuter.

Here's my would-be Craigslist ad:

2005.5 Audi A4 2.0T quattro Avant in moro blue with the 6 speed manual

~84,000 miles, but increasing as I drive the car daily. I'm the third owner and I picked it up at Stevens Creek BMW at the beginning of Sept 2014.

Options I'm aware of:

Premium Package (leather seating surfaces, 12-way power front passenger seat, power tilt/slide moonroof, Homelink remote transmitter, color driver information display)

Cold Weather Package (heated front and rear seats, ski sack)

Sport Package for that year (17-inch cast alloy wheels, all-season tires, special suspension)

Terrific shape except for the rear bumper, which had accident damage (pictured, and appears on the CarFax) when I bought it, and now has typical San Francisco street parking nicks. All maintenance during my ownership has been done at German Motor Specialist and Pit Row DIY (through their full service, not me doing anything), including oil changes every 5,000 miles. I also had both engine mounts and replaced at Griffin Motorwerke in Berkeley.

Timing belt was replaced at ~55,000 miles because of age (it would usually have been at either 75K or 110K, depending who's advice you follow).

Interior's also in really, really good shape, with only a tear on one of the driver's seat bolsters.

Some info on some cool cars, much appreciated, and PMs responded to. Pretty booked up on travel the next few months, but I'll be keeping an eye out. Besides my usual SoCal, AZ, Vegas loop I'll be in Florida in Sept and probably Dallas before the end of the year. Probably kick off 17 in Salt Lake or Denver, and NY after that, I usually try to go in April. Anything beyond that would have to be a hell of a car or hell of a deal to get me to buy a one way plane ticket.

I'll be selling my wife's 2005 Audi A4 Avant around the end of November. It's a rare 6 speed, ultrasport, 1.8t, silver. Almost stock except for an exhaust and a few other minor mods. It has 95K original miles, but I live in San Antonio TX.
