    Third brake light on allroad

Can anyone help with information on how to remove the third brake light from an allroad? I have seen videos on the avant- but mine doesn’t have much room to access to release any clips.IMG_5786.jpg

All I can say is what the workshop manual says, nevermind, there's too much in the pics and the whole thing is 2-3 pages. If you don't have a copy of the workshop manuals from erwin yet for whatever reason, you can look at this on the cardiagn web site. Don't bother trying to save or print them from cardiagn, it won't be what you'll want. One day, bite the $35 and download all the PDFs for your VIN from erwin.audiusa.com.

    https://cardiagn.com/audi-a4-2008-1-...iring-diagram/
then down to the Electrical System link
then page 185 of 306, that section 14 is about the wagon high brake lamp, as much as Audi published about it. Note 14.3 about how to reassemble the lamp prior to installation.

So what it appears to be is there's a slide you shift rightward with a screwdriver, this will compress the retaining springs and allow the lamp unit to be removed on the outside.

I don't find any videos about the high brake lamp on a B8 wagon; which ones were you watching? The B8 A4 allroad is identical to the B8 A4 avant in this regard, and the B8 wagons are identical in this regard for B8.0 and B8.5.

Oh, yeah, just light it up and look up inside the vertical slits, you can see the retaining rail you need to slide with a flathead:

doh, pic is rotated 180°; the rail is to the lower not upper
