    05 Avant Atlas Grey Build

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello everyone at Audizine,

I picked up this Avant 1.8TQA in Atlas Grey in 2013 at 79K miles, and now that I am finally out of school I am starting the build.
    She's going on 118K now...
I am going for an OEM+ look with a few power mods.

    Mods done so far:
-United Motorsport Stage 1 Tune (Spike ~17, Hold ~14 PSI)
    -ECS Tuning Polyurethane Snub Mount
    -Forge Motorsports Splitter Valve
-Pirelli 235/45/17 PZero All Season Plus
-ECS Tuning Drilled and Slotted Rotors (288mm)
    -EBC Redstuff Pads
    -DieselGeek Skid Plate
    -OEM Crossbars
    -Audi Zubehör 405L Roofbox
    -DEPO Black ECODE Headlights
    -DDM 6000K HID Low Beam
    -LED City Lights
    -LED Fog Lights
    -ECS Tuning Boost Gauge
    -RallyFlapz TT Quattro Mudflaps

    Future Planned Mods:
-K04 or GT28RS with supporting mods/tune from United Motorsport
    -Probably Techtonics exhaust.
-Some kind of spoiler, maybe OEM Ultrasport, or carbon fiber one from eBay.
    -Spacers for wheel fitment

Who knows where this will take me, but that's half the fun of building a car.
I will post more photos as the build progresses.

I am attending Camp Allroad come this July, so come and stop by for a chat! Last year was a blast so I definitely recommend going.

Looks beautiful but i have 2 quick questions. With that light bar, roofbox how is she on the highways? And your headlights, do you have the converter or do they sell the xenon assembly?

The light bar and roof rack as a whole is actually pretty quiet up until 90mph or so, I think the box helps a lot with airflow around the light bar.

My car came with the halogen set so just plug and play for me, however DEPO sells xenon versions of these, except the projector and other bulb surrounds are chrome and not black.

Awesome. One more thing which lightbar did you use? You gave me a lot of inspiration haha because I'm going camping with some friends and this is exactly what I wanted to do.

p.s. Just noticed the argo gold mine. I miss Colorado

    They are great for camping!

I just got a cheap 20" off eBay; I'll probably get a nicer one eventually but for the moment it works great.

I ordered it from ECS last year for $1450 with shipping, and they have since reduced the price to 1200 I think. You can also order them from any Audi dealership for 1300 currently. The part number is 8K0071200, the 405 liter box.

How did the wiring turn out? Looks like you just went down the side of the windshield. Wanted to do this on the avant but was unsure on how clean the wiring would look

The wiring is, okay lol I'll admit it looks a little janky up close, but it's not noticeable if you aren't looking for it. Yeah it's just running down the side of the windshield tucked into that rubber trim piece.

Next thing I’m working on is a diverter valve relocation kit. I will post pics once it is completed this weekend.

Diverter valve relocate was a success! Thanks Bluewater Performance for the hoses. The DV is now running from the cold side off the throttle body hose, with the return hose to the TIP crossing in front of the timing belt cover. I found a radiator hose from the 5.4 Ford Excursion (Dayco 71986, 1” diameter) which fit over the alternator perfectly. Looks more or less OEM!
