Coolant pipes for B5.5 Passat (use to delete electronic thermostat on B6)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Use these in conjunction with the B5.5 Passat thermostat, coolant flange, and hoses to convert to a conventional thermostat on your B6 with AMB 1.8T. Only other thing you need to do is delete the DTC's for the thermostat and change the coolant maps in the tune to expect a consistent temp (if you're using Nefmoto and a 518AK file, I've already got the xdf for this). Gets rid of the expensive electric thermostat, and provides consistent coolant temps under load and cruising (no more 200+ degrees while cruising and cracks in your combustion chambers), which would benefit particularly for high HP builds. $50 shipped.

Do you have any final pictures with the thermostat delete? Which pipes do you plug on the lower metal pipe, considering that the B6 has an internal water pump?

I never completed it since I sold the pipes when switching from a 1.8t build to a 2.7... all hard and soft parts are just Passat 1.8T B5.5 gen though, including hoses, thermostat housing, etc. The B5.5 passat has the same internal water pump as the B6, it's basically the same longblock with a conventional thermostat vs electric.
