    2016 S3 S-Tronic downshifting question...

Hello all, I have a 2016 S3 with 2000 miles so far. I've noticed something when I'm in "auto" mode for drive select and manual downshifting from 3rd to 2nd with the paddle the car does NOT rev match. I don't use the manual mode much but when I do use it from 3rd to 2nd gear it never rev match downshifts. From 4th to 3rd it slightly revs while downshift though.

    Is this normal?

i noticed the amount of throttle blip on the s3 isn't as much as the throttle blip on the s4, and something there really isn't much of a blip at all. might be what you're seeing too. you'll get much more of a blip in the higher rpms than lower rpms with the s3.

I've never seen this. Does this only happen in auto mode? In both Comfort and Dynamic (I never use Auto), manual downshifting always rev matches pretty perfectly for me.

Note that for a quick rev match, you need to be off the throttle. If you are still on the gas, it does this weird slow rev match thing, which might be what you're experiencing.

This... You have to make it obvious to the trans controller that you're going to downshift, then it will be crisp and revmatch. If you're on the throttle it will shift slowly and slowly drag the RPMs up. Same way that when you're really into the throttle and up shift, it will shift fast and give you the "DSG fart."
