So on my drive down to the jersey shore this afternoon I had some interesting lights pop up on my dash.
First, it was super hot in north jersey and my car temp read 107 and it had been sitting in that heat for about 5 hrs.
Upon starting the car, all three faults beeped at me. I noticed the steering felt very heavy, and as if my power steering wasn't working. I restarted the car and was expecting the lights to go off, but they didn't. I was in a hurry to get to the beach so I just kept driving. The dynamic steering fault said okay to drive so I was on my way. About an hour into the drive the steering light went off but def didn't have any change in steering feel.
In the next 30 min, I stopped and restarted the car and all was back to normal, no lights. Steering was back to normal and sport diff worked again. No idea why this stuff failed and then worked again but hopefully it doesn't happen again!
My question is: is there a way to disable the dynamic steering? I'll be honest I kind of enjoyed how the steering felt. No assistance, heavy, but even resistance throughout. It doesn't quite feel hydraulic (I'm in a 2013 and have electronic steering) but the weightiness wasn't bad!
