hw the hell do you get the plastic off around the e brake??? (not the tip piece)

I dismantled a B7 today and could not get the lower plastic off the e brake so I could slide the center console out.

I ended up just unbolting the entire brake assembly and removing it with the center console.

I want to figure this out for when I install everything in my B6 and have to remove my B6 handbrake.

Anyone?

To be clear.. I am speaking of the plastic piece that is still on the handbrake in this pic.

You have to have the center console completely loose then you will able to wiggle it free. I remember this being a pain when I did the swap.

I had the same problem, ended up tearing up mine and had to source a replacement, which I haven't installed yet.

I think I used two flat head screw drivers to pry those two clips away from the handle assembly at the same time. Then the entire thing slid forward toward the dash. Definitely the worst part of the console swap.

I just did it on a B6 and a B7 handle, same process.

Just pry back the two tabs in the pic and pull her off ;)
