    Timing belt cover worn. Replace?

    as you can see in the mid left of the pic it is a soft rubber than plastic that has worn or melted. Should i replace this cover? Thanks

    Every single time you do timing always replace the cover. Doesnt matter if its a timing chain like TFSI, TSI or belt like FSI. Do it regarless. Thats my 2 cents.

    Mr Tyler. Im assuming the cover is best when it keeps out debris? Im sure they had a gasket around it for a reason

    Yea. Every car ive ever had timing done ive always bought the cover. Totally worth it.

    Im going to replace it. Why risk a broken cover that could break off into the belt. Thanks
