*NOTE* No service has been performed on the timing chain, guides or tensioners, this S4 has never experienced chain rattle which is one of warning signs that service may be necessary.
As much as I would love to keep her I must part ways with my 2004 Dolphin Grey S4 Avant 6 Speed Manual, my lifestyle is changing and the S4 just doesn't fit it anymore. I am the third owner of this S4 and purchased in in MA through a private party sale in 2011. The S4 has almost 96K miles on it and is in great mechanical condition. The S4 has just had its 95K mile service performed on it earlier this month at Imola Motorsports in Minneapolis, MN and has also just had the following items replaced.
New Front Sway Bars Upper and Lower
New Front Belly Pan
New Front Rotors & Pads
New Rear Rotors & Pads
New Valve Cover Gaskets
New Front Passenger Side CV Boots.
The S4 has a clean Carfax report.
Exterior Condition
This S4 is not a trailer or garage queen and up until late December was my daily driver. As one would expect the front end has a slew of rock chips, most of the deep ones have been touched up. The rear bumper has a few scratches as well as a phillips head screw impression left for me by a previous owner. The rear drivers side fender lip has a few cosmetic issues, several very large chips in the paint, one of which has lead to some bubbling rust under the paint. The chips have been touched up for now to prevent further rusting. There are also a few door dings including a large one on the passenger side front fender.
Interior Condition
The interior is in great shape and is what you would expect for a 12 year old car with 96k miles on it. The drivers side seat and bolster shows some signs of wear, no rips or tears. The netting on the back of both front seats shows signs of wear from rear passengers knees. The rear seat arm rest has a funny impression in it from where the seat belt latches contact when the seats are folded down. Electrically there is not a single thing on the S4 that doesn't work as you would expect.
