2000 S4 lost power and stalled /won't start

I was driving on the freeway (kind of aggressively) and then I lost power. Started chugging when I hit the gas and then finally stalled out when I got off the freeway because I was losing power and now it won't start..won't do anything.
After I got it towed home I was trying to start it and have the key in the on position for a while and then a big temperature gauge started flashing on the display. There was no signs of overheating as I was driving but check the coolant reservoir and it was empty. I have so far change the coolant temperature sensor and tried a new battery because the one in there was from 2012. I haven't had the car for very long and also have a parts car to get things from. since the battery was dead I lost access to any codes.
It just clicks when trying to start now, it turned over once but wouldn't start. Any thoughts on what it could be?

No. But sounds to me like electrical to the starter. The big picture I am thinking is maybe coolant flowed up wiring harness into ecu.

2000 S4 lost power and stalled /won't start

Loud hissing sound coming from driver side engine area. I think from the cylindrical silver part(?) which I don't even know what is. The car turned over again after wiggling the grounds and power around..no start yet and now hissing sound when the car is on. I have full interior power..

Tried to upload a video but not sure if it worked

Not saying this is your problem but when I was driving aggressively I blew off a hose and at one point I couldn't get my car to turn over or do anything. I had to disconnect my battery for 30 mins and then it turned over and started. Just throwing out what I experienced hoping it'll help you.

Unplug the MAF sensor. See if it starts.

Hissing from that silver cylinder thing is potentially due to the fact that the hose connected to it looks electrical taped (based on the video) you could be leaking pressure from the combi valves. Not a huge deal. Part of your secondary air system. This won't prevent it from starting. Full interior power but sometimes turning/other times clicking leads me to believe a loose/corroded engine ground. They're located off of the passenger side frame rail. If you follow your power wire from the battery down to the alternator it should be attached to that (with a zip tie of some sort). Sometimes if they're even a little loose it can cause this issue. It can prevent the battery from charging and starter from turning over. Mine was tight but corroded internally, so if it is tight I would try cutting it open to see or even just replacing it. Generic wire from the parts store will do the same thing.

If it's starting to go bad it will sometimes get enough ground to turn over, other times it won't. So wiggling the grounds on your firewall could just be unrelated.

Thanks for all the input everyone, I need to get a few hours to look more into it. It sounds to me like trb1 has the right ideas
