    Hey everyone,

Haven't been on here in a while. Have a 2016 A4, but due to a new job that requires person vehicle travel, I've decided to get something used that I don't care about throwing miles on. Found this A3 at a local dealer. Don't know much about it. Has 72,700 miles, leather, nav, Bose.

I absolutely love the look of it, but it definitely needs a little body work. Few dents and scratches and that nice scuff on the rear driver side wheel well. This could cost a little $$ with that color.

I'd like to do a few things(suspension, wheels, etc) to it once all basic maintenance was completed.

What can you guys tell me about this car? Any concerns? What should I look for? Part access? Anything.

    Thanks for all the help.

I've always loved the 3.2 VR6 A3's. This car will require timing chains at some point. But if they aren't making noise than I say you are good for a while. Make sure the DSG fluid is serviced promptly. All general VW/Audi service intervals apply to ensuring longevity of this car. They are very reliable when maintained right.

If you need anything like OEM replacement parts, or performance stuff let me know!

Thanks for your input. No doubt in my mind I will keep all maintenance up to date. Any idea how difficult it might be to do a little body work with this paint? (dealership told me it's Ocean Blue)? I've been trying to find some pictures of this color A3 with some wheels and suspension, but haven't seen much. I know it's way forward looking, but I was just trying to get an idea with how I could potentially make this thing looking. But I suppose that's a good thing that there might not be that many out there.

Also- definitely not that much activity in the A3 section compared to the A4?

The better forum for A3s would be: http://forums.vwvortex.com/forumdisp...3-S3-RS-3-(8P)

I had a 3.2 A3 for 4 years. Loved driving it, hated the gas mileage.

    Mine was Moro Blue:

    Here is an Ocean Blue:

Body work for yours will run you anywhere from $700-$900 for the quarter panel & rear bumper re-spray.

Both are great looking cars. How many miles did you have? Any specific reason you got rid of it? What are those suspensions and wheel size?

I bought the car at 34K miles, and sold it at 111K.

I got rid of it because I also have a 2008 R32, and have been wanting a B8 Avant for the longest, so I picked up a 2012 A4 Avant shortly before I sold the A3. Nothing really went wrong with the A3, save for an axle needing to be replaced and window regulators.

The A3 was on H&R coilovers with VMR V701 wheels. (18x8.5, et45, with 225/40/18 Hankook Ventus)

Thank you. Also, any reason why I wouldn't be able to register at VWVortex? They must have be having some problems with their registration.

So I'm going to look at the car again tomorrow. Spoke with the dealership today and they said that all they did was their 40-point inspection which included an oil change and new tires. 75k service hasn't been completed. What do I need to worry about here? Timing belt issues? I know the DSG will need to be serviced.
