I did some searching and maybe this will apply to the Valeo kit and maybe not.
I've had the Valeo SMF clutch conversion kit installed for about 1000 miles and followed what I feel was a pretty conservative break in period. No heavy acceleration, motor was never run over 4K rpms, and not quick or hard shifts for about 500 miles. I drove it on the interstate a little this week and put it in 4th to pass some leisurely elderly folks and 18 wheelers but no hard shifts. I did get into full boost on the interstate a few times and the clutch was strong and there was no slippage. Again, it was t like I was wasn't winding it out (I probably shifted around 4200 rpms). So I got off the interstate today and pulled into work and that's when I noticed what sounded like it could be a throw out bearing rattle. Typical symptoms like rattles when clutch is released and stops once there is clutch pressure. But I read that some people say this is from doing the SMF conversion and there is more vibration being transferred and not absorbed like the DMF would do. Any thoughts? This is the first SMF conversion I've done and it sounds similar to a throw out bearing but most of them I heard sounded pretty bad.
