Looking at purchasing a reman AWP 1.8t engine out of a 2003 jetta 5spd with low km. Buddy got in an accident and has no need for the engine so im getting a killer deal.

Anyways im wondering if it will work for my 2002 b6 audi application. What will I have to change over what can I keep etc etc...?

    Thankyou for the help

    Cheers,

    tyler

Doesn't the Jetta have a transverse engine, not longitudal like our audi's. That alone would make me stop right there lol, trans mount will be different, torque converter, trans, ect. And the wiring harness will be different. Cheap motor great, but it's gonna cost you big time to retrofit it I think.

From what I've read the long block seems to be the same. I just need to swap over my accessories and oil pan. Can anyone confirm this.

That's correct, I can confirm this from a manual AWM ('04 Passat) long block to an '03 GLS 1.8T. Oil pump pickup tubes are different as well

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I'm having issues with my thermostat housing not fitting properly and leaking. Is there any fix to this. The hole seems to be to small for the housing and the oring to seat properly
