    Exclamation Random starting issue's?

    Been having a starting issue with my A5 that is getting constantly worse. Hoping someone can lead me into the right direction.

    Car details:
    2012 Audi A5 with 42,000 miles. 6 speed manual. Zero modifications. No Check engine lights or other error lights after startup.

    Problem(s):
    About two months ago my car wouldn't want to start. Press the clutch, gauges sweep, but nothing after that. Would try again and then would start. As time passed I had to attempt to start it a few times before it would attempt to start. Fast forward to now the car almost always does not want to start. Sometimes it will and then shut off after 2-3 seconds. Then it won't want to start again after a few tries. Once the car actually starts and runs past a few seconds it will run perfectly normal. Today while dealing with this I started getting more faults with TPMS, air bags, and power windows wouldn't work but all that went away once the car did turn over properly.

    Did some research on here for a few days and the only thing I can somewhat come up with is the clutch switch which is also integrated into the clutch master cylinder. Seems odd that it would cause all these other issues as well. I did a scan with the Carista app and came up with these soft codes I'll post in my next post below.

    That's a great list of your issues. Could you clarify "start" a bit more? Turns over but does not fire; does not turn over; starts but doesn't idle well; combinations...

    It's a long shot, but check battery connections and replace the battery if the connections were good, especially if it's still on its first one, you live in a cold climate. A poor battery can give amazing random looking effects when asked to crank an engine.

    Maybe this will explain it a little better.

    Press clutch, push key, gauges/needles sweep:
    - Starter does not engage. Nothing happens. Silent. Stabilization fault appears.
    - Starter engages, car starts, shuts off after 2-3 seconds. Stabilization fault appears. TPMS lights up.
    - Starter engages, car stars, shuts off immediately. Stabilization fault, TPMS lights up, Headlight sensor error, Power windows don't work.
    - Starter engages, car starts and runs perfectly normal. All electronics work and errors are gone.

    Checked the battery connections and everything was tight and clean. Voltage was at 12.7 while parked. Measured ~13.7 while running, kept rising. The battery is the original. This issue will happen regardless of the car sitting or being used multiple times in a day. Seems like those are normal voltages.

    Did a load test on the battery and everything came back normal. Tonight the car took over 30mins and about 50 tries to get it to finally run . Will have to get a loaner as this Audi is pretty much a paper weight.

    I've noticed that when I push the key in without pushing the clutch a "stabilization fault" will still appear. When this happens the car will not start. Eventually I will get a "push clutch to start" on the dashboard instead of the "fault" and the car will usually start afterwards.
