    Apr Ecu tune?

Hey everyone. I have a 2015 Audi A4 I bought it new, I only have 11k miles on it right now. Full warranty and also bought the extended bumper to bumper warranty 7 years or 100k . But the devil in me wants to come out and play. I have been looking at the APR tune website and was thinking of doing the ECU tune with the software. I have some questions and looking for some input .

    1. Would you guys do it with only 11k miles on the car or wait to see if anything is faulty first ?

    2. Would it mess with my warranty ? I know they say it should NOT but I have seen posts here with some people which were unlucky

    3. Is it worth to just get the ECU and nothing else?

    4. Could anyone suggest any places where it could be done at a good price? I been and seen the authorized dealer selections but I would feel better if someone has already been there and tried a specific place.

I'm in Central Jersey. Near Trenton NJ

Do a tune, downpipe and (intake which doesnt do a lot) the tune with whoever you choose will bring your car to life reliably. I have a malone but apr in the past and had no complaints.

Really depends what you want from the car. Modding your car most likely will void the warranty and obviously tuning will makes it way more enjoyable but with that comes negatives. My 2010 A4 has over 112k miles and only that has prevented me from tuning is the oil consumption and high milage. Car has treated me great and I really enjoy driving it stock since it's a manual transmission. Ive mostly invested into overall looks because its still just an A4. My next car will be a lot more aggressive such as a 135i N54, or an S4 so im waiting for speed when that time comes.

On such a new car with extended warranty I would wait personally but on the other hand at waterfest this year at englishtown apr typically has a deal which is $100 off and free install. They have offered it at other shows this year already so safe to say it will be the same there.

I've been tuned since around 10k and just recently went stage 2 with around 19k. Although a stage 1 tune is reliable for the most part, you need to go into it prepared for the worst. If you are okay with risking your warranty then I would say go ahead and do it. It definitely makes the car much more enjoyable.

I was in your exact same boat. Did every mod under the sun besides a tune. The only thing left was a tube. I have the E85 capable motor on my 13 A4. Bumper to bumper warranty was still intact until Augus of this year.after driving and being in numerous tuned and modded A4's. I took the plunge and said screw it. Went back with a 034 hi flow cat and APR K04 kit. In now way possible would I ever go back to the stock K03and OEM tune. Out of everything I ever did to the car up until then, the K04 Kit was single handedly the best investment I could have ever made. Beyond impressed. New encountered power and normal drivability is beyond amazing. I went stock directly to K04. Huge HUGE difference. Besides a random ECM failure covered under warranty, I have not had or experienced a single problem with my A4. Depending on what your goal is, any stage will pit a grinn ear to ear. Would I ever take the decision or jump back, without a doubt absolutely not.

I tuned at 5k on my car. No issues as of yet. Every time I go to the dealer I have it flashed back to stock prior to going. I am not TD1 that I know of.

112k is when most cars are just starting to get tuned usually. Nothing to worry about.

Similar boat, tuned anyway... It makes a massive difference. Stage 1 tune, CR-15 strut brace, drivetrain inserts, and sway bars (if you don't have the sport package) collectively transform the car almost unrecognizably. All of that together can be done for about a grand, and it's completely worth the money.

Also, these engines are, generally speaking, very reliable. You'd only lose the powertrain warranty by tuning; the warranty on the ancillary components (which have had most of the issues in my 2 B8s) is unaffected.

if youre ballin enough to not care about repair cost out of pocket, by all means do it.
no matter how much these tune companies say their ECU tunes are undetectable when flashed to stock, Audi is gonna find out.

I figured it would be best to ask here instead of starting a new thread... Why does APR's dyno sheets show a huge bump in low-end torque compared to just about anyone else?

Their dyno bumpers may be a bit optimistic, compared to how others rate. But they're also widely believed to crank the boost up higher than other tuners. All that said, I'm stage 1 and I would consider their numbers to be roughly plausible. My car will accelerate faster than a 2011 5.0 Mustang from a 5 mph roll.

I been looking and there is this module

    http://www.neuspeed.com/641015-neusp...er-module.html

I understand it says Audi A3, but it says no TD1 code , no Ecu remaping . Anyone think this is real and true ? If so the. Is there something like this for A4?

Our cars are Gen 2, not Gen 3. Someone does make a tune box like that, but from what I've read it doesn't work anywhere near as well as an actual tune.

I tuned my 2014 about 1 week after I bought it a few months ago with 15k on it. No issues with the tune and took it to the dealer for service and left the tune intact. No issues and nothing said by dealer.

GIAC is another option for software. AWE Tuning is not far from you and they are a very trustworthy shop.
