Will the installation and use of this product throw any codes in the ECU?

Very nice. Second the above question - would love to get this at least for my stock exhaust to start.

It will not throw a CEL, gentlemen. The kit includes a valve simulator. For whatever reason if this simulator wasn't installed - there would be a 'soft code' per se, but never a CEL.

One more question, is there any way to make open valves the default setting? I assume not, but that would be awesome because I want it open 90% of the time, but that 10% I want to be able to close it easily instead of having to get under the car and re-connecting the wires.

Wait, isn't the entire purpose of this that you can close and open the valves at will?

On that topic, does "off" just meant stock mode? I.e. they still open, but only in certain circumstances?

If I am driving and I turn the 'sound' on, and then park, it goes back to off, I'd like it to stay on.

In the off position they are always closed and never open, in the on position they are always open and never closed

This is correct. The SwitchPath™ Controller overrides factory settings.

So since this overrides the aforementioned settings -- your valves will be closed upon startup unless you turned off your vehicle with the valves open and started it back up within ~45 min - an hour. Once the car is stationary and powered down for longer than ~45 min - an hour, the valves will close.

    Hope that makes sense!

Did you add a downpipe to the catback or remain oem? I'm thinking about getting the track catback as I already have their resonated dp but I'm curious if it will produce any drone or humming accelerating through the 2500-3500 rpm range. Right now I get that with the Audi resonator delete and it's annoying.

I had a catless and resonatorless downpipe, I went back to OEM as that was far too much for me as a DD. I'd highly recommend pairing their catback with one of their downpipes (with the resonator) as this would provide optimal sound without ruining your car IMO. That was the mistake I learned the hard way unfortunately.

Thanks man! That's about what I was hoping to hear. Sorry about having to learn that lesson the hard way but others can benefit from it at least. I'm sure the reciprocal is going to happen for you in the future.

You're welcome, happy to help others and weigh in with my personal experience. I'd like to save anyone from going through my experience as it was a bit of a headache (literally). After that, I'd recommend a HFC and resonated downpipe setup if you're going aftermarket.

I came from 2.7T's and running catless downpipes into an AWE Twin1 catback, which are "loud," yet AMAZING sounding, but very DDable IMO; so naturally I thought I'd be fine with a catless/resonatorless downpipe on a 4 cylinder. I think with our cars and the EA888 motor, its the acoustics produced by the exhaust manifold being integrated into the head of the car causing such a loud/drony and unpleasant noise when you completely remove the cat and resonator. Ultimately this is just me speculating, but I do believe that is what creates the awful cabin noise.

Not possible with the current configuration, Sax.

that would be great, i personally dont plan on doing an exhaust so im not needing to quiet it down, i just want the option to make it louder or have it stock

Got mine last week, and installed in 20 minutes, with most of the time spent on cleaning up the wiring.
It works very well, does everything you expect it to. Awesome product.

    Great work AWE!

I've had a problem with valves failing...twice in two years. Sounds like a Civic R with a bad exhaust. Makes me not want to drive the car, and the lead time on valve replacement is surprisingly long, while the car is parked at the shop and I had to miss two track days and out of pocket travel expenses back and forth...
