    2013 Audi A4 Rust Spots

Has anyone had any luck getting Audi Canada to cover rust spots. I just bought a Certified Pre-Owned 2013 Audi A4 in February 2016. I realize I did not buy a new car, but it only has 87,000kms on it. I just noticed a small rust spot and paint bubble at the bottom of the front fender, right behind the wheel. It's starting to rust on the exact same spot on the other side of the car. I called my dealership since I thought there was a 12 year Corrosion Warranty. I was told to bring it in and they would look at it, but he said every warranty claim for that area of the car has been denied by Audi Canada since it's considered wear and tear. So I will bring it in but if anyone has any tips on what to say that would be very helpful, because I know they will try to get out of it. Thank you!

How is it wear and tear?! The cars are galvanized steel and aluminum--it should not be rusting unless there was a fault in the process somewhere.

They tell everyone that area is wear and tear. Mine is a 2010 and that part is rusted. Pretty much every other A4 rusts there. The newer ones have a plastic bit that protects that area from road debris and probably slows down or prevents the corrosion. Get some rust inhibitor and spray it once in a while.

Pretty sure Audi USA has a 10 year rust warranty, I'd assume Canada is similar.

VW/Audi policy states that they will fix your car, HOWEVER in order for it to be covered under warrantee it must be through the panel. The rust/ corrosion must weaken the material to the point where it fails. If you repair and paint the rust spot yourself then you void the warrantee and assume all responsibilities to repair it in the future.

I took my Avant in when the hatch started to rust around the third brake light. They gave me the speech above.
