Need help identifying clunk (Rear Passenger Wheel) with video

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've been hearing this clunk from the rear passenger side for about a week now and it's been getting slightly louder since then.
It only happens during deceleration and you can hear it stop when I accelerate in the video. Camera is mounted on rear right window.

    It's a B5... Probably a wheel bearing.

Jack the car up on that corner, grab the top of the tire and try to jerk it back and forth. If there is play, pull the wheel, brake caliper, and disk. Then check the hub for play.

If the hub is fine, start checking all bushings and use a bright flashlight while looking at them.

That's no wheel bearing, but it don't sound like a bushing. Could be blown shock with a broken rear strut mount causing the wheel to jump up and down. What do the tires look like on each side?

Okay I just went and jacked it up and there is no play in the wheel. The noise seems like it's coming from the middle of the car and clunks once every 1/2 rotation of the wheel.

@Bordom: tires are brand new with less than 1k on them.

    Hopefully it isn't your differential.

The rear struts bolt into a housing that bolts to the chassis inside the wheel well. No easy way to check that without taking it all apart.

check the bolts on the inner CV joint. When my E30 made a similar noise it ended up being that the rear half shafts were loosening up from the rear diff flanges.

I think I may have found the problem. I had my friend rotate the left rear wheel while I was underneath trying to find where the sound was coming from. My driveshaft seems to be hitting on my new-ish larger exhaust right behind the down/flex pipe. Not sure why it just started happening or why I can hear it at higher speeds but I believe this is the culprit.

Any idea how to fix this problem?? It only happens when my foot is off the gas or brake.. So when I'm on either pedal it doesn't happen.

How many miles are on your engine/trans/snub mounts?

When my B6s downpipe started knocking around it was because the passenger side mount blew out.

Might want to take a close gander at em haha haha. You're still running a stock snub mount? They're made of Twinkie.
