Radio information in cluster

While flipping through my owners manual yesterday I noticed that it mentioned that the radio station (RDS) information should pop up in the top of the display on the cluster.

My car however, does not seem to do that. All that is displayed is the FM frequency, even though the RDS information is populated just fine on the MMI screen.

Is there a setting that needs to be changed somewhere? I can't seem to find any mention of needing to turn or on or off. My B6 had no issues with doing this, not sure why it would not be a feature on a B8?

Mine is hit or miss. It usually only displays info from HD stations.

It all depends on the strength of the signal and if the station is broadcasting the information. I'm pretty far away from the antennas so I randomly get the information.

Why is it that it populates just fine in the MMI yet the display in the cluster continues to only tell me the radio frequency though?

Oh I missed that part. I've never had detailed radio info show up at the top of the cluster, only on my MMI screen.

My OTHER media will always show up in the cluster though - like any files I play off the SD cards or stream from my phone.

mine only shows the radio station name/frequency as well, no track info, i only see that on the MMI screen but not on the instrument cluster, i think that's just normal. but yea mine does for SD card, USB, CD, etc.

maybe it's just for the nav/mmi 3g models it shows it, that have the colored [non-red] display.

Mine just shows the listing of available radio stations. I found a menu to search for station info, but it seems to get stuck on searching and never populates anything.
