Vibration at 60-70 mph after new Toyo Proxes 4 Plus/Rotiform IND-T 19" wheels install

Anyone have any ideas on how to go about fixing this issue. I bought the wheel/tire package of CarID and had it balanced twice now. Once a regular balance and the second time a roadforce test, and nothing off. Took it to a mechanic but they can't get the car to highway speed, but inspected the car and saw nothing wrong. Took it to Audi and they said maybe the tire pressure was too high, and it was 38psi, which is actually supposed to be 36 front 33 rear for the A3 8V. Not sure if getting an alignment will help anything, but before when I had my winter set 18 inch Audi wheels it did not do that. Any ideas?

Bent summer wheel perhaps? Have you ever hit any curbs or deep potholes that could have bent the rim slightly?

    Are you running spacers?

I've had a similar issue after adding 10/15mm spacers and installing sport springs. ECS sent me a replacement set of spacers as they assumed they were bad, just like I did. New spacers did not help. I've had the car aligned, OEM wheels and tires balanced twice (road force), and installed two sets of new spacers. Still get a slight vibration around 65-70mph. Dealer said they couldn't do anything because of spacers/springs. I've learned to drive at 75-85mph now because I like how the car sits and don't plan to go back to stock.

if you have anything added to the wheels such as spacers or anything non stock, remove them and drive the car close to stock as possible.

so, to test if one of the rims or tires is the culprit you need to do is swap the rims around. the technique requires the air is the same in all four tires before do the swap. then swap only one rim at a time.

example, move the front passenger rim to the rear. leave the drivers side alone. drive the car for a day or two.

    nothing changes.

    leave that set alone.

move the drivers side to rear.

drive for a day or two.

if it stops then you found the rim or tire that was bad

if there is less issue then more than one rim or tire is bad.

vibrations are usually felt more with bad front wheels. you will feel very little to nothing if the back wheels are off. therefore, your testing the fronts, but do one at a time.
bad tires alone can also cause vibrations but usually its rims. a slight bent to rims can cause vibrations at certain speeds.

Thanks guys. No spacers. Rims and tires are brand new. Did not hit any potholes. But the set came tire and wheel mounted I can't really tell if it is damage but I highly think it is.

Vibrations do seem to be coming from the front mostly. What is also weird is that it goes away or not as bad after a while of driving at that speed so idk if it's surface too. I'll try to swap each tire like you said.

Are the wheels made for the 57.1 hub or are you using hub centric rings? You might want to try a different set if you're running hub rings.

Is this something that is only in the first couple minutes of driving then?

No only when I hit between 60-70 and stay there but for some reason it feels like it goes away after a while at being at that speed

I picked up my last set on Amazon. I prefer the metal hub rings. As long as they fit tight to the wheel and hub they should do the job. If they seem to smooth out as you drive, it could be flat spots. I had a previous set of tires that had a vibration every morning, cooler temps made it worse. About half way through my commute they would smooth out.

No I do have them for sure. I'm going to try the aluminum ones from the ECS website

I had an old B5 S4, took it for a set of new set of rubber on OZ ultraleggaras, when I got the car back I found out the tyre shop had poked the hub rings out when balancing and didn't bother putting them back in.
The car vibrated like Elvis on speed, when I got home I took the wheels off myself and that's how I found out. They had to give me a brand new set of OZ alloy hubcentrics, cause the mech had lost my old ones.

Very wary of spacers and hubcentrics now.

Had a bent rim and two tires so didn't have a chance to place new hub rings. But got everything fixed yesterday and no more vibrations after installing the aluminum hub rings I got from ECS . They fit super snug so no movement inside the rim. Thank you for the help!
