    2000 Nogaro Blue S4 Thoughts

    Its been a few years since i've been on here. I just bought a 2000 Nogaro Blue S4 with 86,000 miles. Two owner car. The last owner had it 7 years and averaged about 2,000 miles a year. From what i know, the only mods are a short throw shifter and an aftermarket exhaust. I am not sure if the timing belt/water pump has been changed yet. I am going to call the two shops that did work/repairs in the past on this one. Worst case, i'll just get it done. What do you guys think of this one?

    Very clean!

    I say do the timing belt, valve cover gaskets, cam gaskets, water pump, and thermostat, thermostat housing (change plastic to metal) if you cannot figure out of it's been done before. Its supposed to be done every 75k miles so you are 10 over and it's an old car. You're probably on borrowed time.

    you're probably right. I'm trying to get in contact with the previous owner to get some feedback on the TB/WP. I'm glad this won't be my DD. I don't want to put too many miles on it:)

    i went and looked at that car three weeks ago with the intention of buying it. Here's how my visit went... Arrived there that morn a half hour before the dealership opened. Owner showed up I asked him where the car was he said it wasn't on the lot but it was down the road at the shop getting an ABS sensor. He then proceeded to tell me that I can go look at it if I want to. No effort to accompany me whatsoever! Horrible business ! However in the long run I really could care less since I could really look the car over by myself. I went to the shop down the road and saw the car out back. I asked the mechanics what kind of work they did on it and how the undercarriage looked. They said ABS sensor and alsl the coil spring was shot thats why the driver side was sagging. Also the undercarriage was extremely rusty. He told me he offered to clean the whole undercarriage from rust and treat it but the owner of the dealership said no. I drove the car around the lot and noticed right away the car had a short shifter and needed way too much work for my liking. Just an overall horrible experience with that dealership and the owner.     Yea if its a north/central east car, its probably got some rust. nothing a little care wont fix. Unless your "Bordom" from canada then youll have to replace everything pointing to the ground

    ok so i just took the S4 for a spin. Its definitely going to need some work hahah but it pulls hard!!!!!! Its going to need some pads, rotors, calipers, sway bar and thats just the beginning. Its in rougher shape than i thought but thats ok.

    The car definitely needs some love in the suspension, wheel bearings and brake pads department. Other than that, the engine pulls hard, tranny seems ok.

    Good News! I was able to get a hold of the previous owner and here is what he said:

    "It has the giac tune, 3" dps, 3" scorpion exhaust, 710n dvs, darintake, awe drivetrain stabilizer, snub mount, h sport sway bars, awe boost gauge, jhm short shifter, jhm lightweight flywheel with stage 3 or 4 clutch.
