I paid about $500 over invoice, but as far as i know they are selling pretty well right now and if you get anything less then invoice is good.

As far as options i would get the leather, forget the Nav. A lot of people love the xenons, but they aren't cheap.

Audi unlike American car companies don’t do a lot of deals and rebates. They basically make a good product and feel their customers will pay for it.

I have bought a number of new cars and here are my tips to getting a good deal…

    1) Do some internet research so that you know the options, the invoice and MSRP for the car you want. A car salesman can tell very quickly whether or not the customer is knowledgeable about the car. This limits their ability to BS you and puts them on their tows a little.

    2) Let them know you are serious about buying a car (salesman have numbers to meet and they hate to be jerked around). Say something like “I am looking to buy a car in the next month but if I find the right deal I am willing to buy now.†(Salesman know that anytime a serious customer walks out the dealer door, their odds of getting that sale have gone down. Therefore let them know that IF they negotiate a little they will 100% get your business)

    3) Let the salesman know that you are trying to decide between a few different cars (of different brands) Like…â€I really like the A4 but I am also looking at the BMW 3-series†This lets the salesman know that you have a viable alternative, and if he does not make a good deal then you will go to a diff dealer. (Dealers of the same brand -- two Audi dealers -- often have an unwritten rule that they will not undersell a diff dealer in the same area that you stopped by first.)

    4) Here is an odd one…but it works. Spend a lot of time with the salesman, go for test drives and such. By spending the better part of the day with a salesman he invests more in the sale. Therefore he is more willing to do the deal. Justification for his effort.

    5) Have an ace in the hole…Negotiate a price with all the options you want, but hold one back…like satellite radio or something in the $200-$300 range. Then after you have stalled in the negotiation, sit there and look at the price. Think for a minute and come back with something like “okay I can do that price, but you gotta throw in Satellite radio. Throw in the radio and I will give you check right now, deal done…†9 times out of 10 they will do it.

    6) Also keep this in mind. All Audi, BMW and Mercedes factories call the customer after a purchase and ask them to review the salesman/dealership. The salesman only gets his bonus if he got ALL excellents on from you. Therefore tell the salesman that if does your price then you will guarantee him all excellents, and you might even throw in a letter to his boss about what a great job he did. This one really works!

Hope that wasn’t too boring, good luck with the deal.
