Question Brakes make creaky noise when pressed down?

This car has been having this problem for a while now and it's not been driven while waiting for me to get around to replacing the control arms and figure out what is wrong with the brakes. Basically my brake lights are flashing and when I first start driving they BARELY work I have to put the brakes to the floor well before I need to stop and then about 5-10 minutes after driving the brakes seem to stiffen up and work pretty well until the car gets cold again. Right now I'm sitting in the car parked and every time I press down the brake pedal all the way down(doesn't do it if lightly pressed) I can hear a pretty loud creaking noise coming from the front left caliper. Any ideas as to what this might be? Brake light has been flashing since I got in the car, about 30 minutes. Thanks!

Flashing brake light should be low on brake fluid. My creaking went away when I replaced my caliper guides with the TyrolSport kit.

You definitely need to re-bleed those brakes. When was that last time you did? I know you're supposed every 2 years minimum.

If it's not that, I'm wondering if you have a vacuum booster issue, but I suspect you'd see other symptoms.

It's been about 2 years and a few months since bleeding so that's where I'll start, thank you.

I don't see a minimum line on the brake fluid reservoir,is it just all the way to the top? My fluid is filled to the crease in the middle if you know what I'm talking about.

You should be able to see fluid touching the screen in the fill opening. If not then you need to add fluid and also bleed them to get trapped air out. BTW how old is your brake fluid ? Needs to be flushed and replaced every couple years or so. If your car has been sitting for a long time then I would do a complete brake fluid / lubricant flush and refill...

If that's the case then I'm looking a little low on fluid as well as probably need new fluid. Thanks for the info!
