Question Rear washer hose repair (Avant) - what to use?

So, I have a typical Avant issue with the rear washer hose splitting right where it bends around the hatch hinge.
Now, Audi's factory fix is to use 2 hose repair connectors for the plastic corrugated hose (1J0955875 and 1J0955875R) as documented in this DIY. But the problem I see with this repair is that the connectors are hard plastic. Inside the rubber piece connecting hatch lid and roof is also some wiring. So, I think that stuffing this hard plastic connector in there and have it around the metal hinge will inevitably lead to rubbing against the wiring and causing short in no time.
I have also read about someone using a fuel hose and plastic glue and stuffed the two ends of the washer hose into the fuel hose and glued that. But again, I'm not sure whether this would hold long-term.
Has anyone done this repair with an alternative solution that would survive the continuous stress in that area?

p.s. No, I am not disconnecting or plugging my rear wiper or washer.

Get some vacuum line that is the same size as the tube. Use the repair connectors but cut out a chunk of the corrugated tubing and replace it with the vacuum line.

I used marine grade shrink tubing. It has worked great for over a year. It was really easy too. I just slipped it on the cracked hose and heated it up. Make sure you get the kind that has adhesive in it or it will not work.
