Hello everyone. I am a newbie to the world of Audi's and Audizine. I have decided to post a little thread with my mythos black 2016 A3 2.0 Quattro. initially I was just planning on keeping the car completely stock but after reading countless threads and posts from this website as well as others I've decided to go down the mod path. This car will be primarily my DD but will also be doing occasional HPDE events throughout the year thanks to a friend I have who owns a insane bright blue Hyundai who has talked me into what a good idea it is to thrash your perfectly good car around a racetrack. With this in mind this car will be more performance oriented with build than looks. During the past couple of months I have installed a APR Cold Air Intake, a APR Oil Catch Can, APR Turbo Muffler Delete and a APR Stage 1 ECU and TCU tune. With just those initial mods I can say the car changed quite dramatically! As countless others have said on various threads, the car completely comes alive. Not that it was a slouch by any means stock, but now it is a whole different car. The power and acceleration difference is very dramatic. Being a turbo car there's still a fair amount of turbo lag at lower RPM's say below 3000, but once over that the car comes alive. Another thing I have noticed with quite a bit of freeway driving I do, my gas mileage has increased by 2-3 MPG! Basically the car is running more efficient now than stock. Anyone out there that's on the fence with this I would say get off and just do it, you'll love your car! Now, with that being said, with this additional power I decided to go out and participate in a couple of HPDE events past this spring. With the big increase in power, the other shortcomings of the car such as being able to stop and grip the road on the stock tires became massively apparent! Even though I had Motul RBF 600 brake fluid installed with EBC Yellowstuff Pads, the stock rotors and calipers were crying uncle by giving me massive brake fade and a very spongy pedal. Oh yea, and those stock Conti Pro Contact tires? Well let's just say they didn't have such a good time either. So, with all being said, next week the car will be heading to NGP Performance in Lorton VA and will be outfitted with a shiny new set of 10 Pot Tarox brakes, H&R Sport Springs, H&R rear sway bar, and some shiny new 19" VMR V804 Wheels with Michilen Pilot Super Sports. I'll send pics of before and after the install. In hindsight, the S3 would of been a better vehicle for my "needs", however eventually this little A3 will be the best it can be..more to come...
