Please Help! Car Won't Start!

My 2007 A6 3.2 Quattro will crank but won't start, it seems like it's about to start but then turns off, then if I try again it just keeps cranking. Automatic cranking doesn't seem to work, or it works intermittently. It's giving me a lot of error messages/warning lights on the dash too (like everything--parking brake, airbag, TMPS, EPC, sometimes saying there is a parking brake fault, and it seems like if I let it crank for long enough it gives an oil pressure warning, although I figured that's from turning the engine over for an extended period of time). This is all after not driving the car for a few days and then replacing the third brake light in the back window today. My friends who were there said the first time I turned it over the fuel pump made a funny noise, then stopped. Anyone have a similar problem or know what's going on? I will probably have to call a tow truck....

Had same symptoms with mine 2007 4.2. High pressure fuel pump was bad. I also had TMPS and EPC lights on along with some random Check Engine codes. Have your Fuel pumps inspected.

I had a problem like that a couple months ago where at times my car would Crank but it wouldn't start and if if did it would shudder back off . For me it turned out to be a super closed fuel filter but your probably is most likely gas related

I also had the HPFP replaced on mine. It would start, but run really rough and die sometimes. Intrument panel would light up like a Christmas tree. Started off intermittent, but then became more and more frequent. My extended warranty paid for itself on the first trip to the dealer.
