So I got my a3 with 93k miles and I'm almost at 100k, can anyone tell me what has to be done for the 100k service and do you guys recommend taking it in to a shop/dealer or just doing it myself.. I always do my own work on my vehicles but this is my first Audi and not sure if I should take on it myself. Thanks in advance for any advice

If you haven't changed your transmission fluid (whether it's 6MT or auto), you should do that.

Everywhere there is a dot, it's saying to do it, unless there are exceptions:

Would that explain why it jerks when I'm taking off from a stop? Mines auto and everytime I go from reverse to drive it kicks pretty hard also I've been noticing a noise when Coming to a stop but it goes away when I completely stop any idea what that could be?

Can't say definitively, but changing the transmission fluid will definitely help smooth things out, if not fix it outright. At it did so on my A4, which was at 108k when I changed it. My A4 had a couple clunky shifts that turned to butter.

Audi will advise you against it because it's "lifetime" fluid, but no fluid is truly lifetime, and "lifetime" is subjective. Be sure to get the correct fluid!

Yeah I still wanted to do it either way because i don't know how the previous owner treated the car. I'll definitely look into that

Did you do a complete flush or just an oil change?

Drain and fill both times (2nd at ~145k), replace filter.

Yeah. Easy enough. You do need vag-com to do it though, to monitor transmission temperature. Car's gotta be perfectly level. Always crack open the fill plug before the drain plug.

Check the regionals to see if there is a good indie shop nearby.
