    Question 034 breather kit issue

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im having a strange issue with my 034 breather kit. I noticed when replacing my jet suction pump a loud air hiss noise. When i looked, I saw that the silicone hose going from the intake manifold to the billet pcv valve was collapsed at idle. Does anyone know why its collapsing? The pcv valve appears to be working fine. Im gussing its the weak silicone hose that cant take the suction. Can anyone also confirm that the oem hose part# 06B103224C from the early b6 is the one i need to replace the 034 hose with?

Are you sure the pcv is not stuck closed or plugged? The PVR valve could also be plugged. There should not be that much vacuum on that hose to cause it to collapse. Try removing the oil cap at idle and see if it still collapses. If it does not I would check your PRV.

If the breather system is working fine then like you said the hose is weak and collapsing. And that is the right part# for early B6 OEM hose, PCV system changed in 03.

Idle is at -19. Removing the oil cap makes no change to the hose, still collapses. The oil cap also bounces around as it should and does not get sucked down. Seems the issue is a weak hose.

Make sure that your PCV valve isn't stuck closed or only opening part way.

When I took out the billet one, I was able to blow through it. I had this cheap plastic pcv valve installed and the hose still collapsed with that one in place. The valve doesn't seem to be my issue. I just ordered an Oem hose as it appears much stronger than the 034 hose. I will update when I get it to see if that fixes my issue.

When I installed my 034 kit it came with the wrong hose to go to the PCV so I just used my stocker and fortunately it was the only stock hose in good condition. Maybe that was a good call after all...

Sorry to hear you're having an issue! The hose should not be collapsing; feel free to email Sam at [email protected] for assistance. I'd recommend checking to make sure that there isn't an issue with the check valve or PRV, and ensuring that the hose isn't tweaked or pinched from installation. Hope that helps!

Oem hose fixed the issue. The hose no longer collapses at idle. Also,Thanks to europaparts for the 1 day shipping too.

Zero issues with the reliability of my 034 silicon breather kit. It has been used daily for 3+ years.

I am using the rest of their kit. Just comparing the 034 PCV hose with the new oem one, The 034 hose is very weak. Idk if its from the oil seeping through the silicone over time that made the hose weak.

I have had my 034 hoses for years now also with no collapsing issues, but it does seem like oil is sweating through the hose.
