Question pana-roof seal dying / reverse camera lens replacement

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
First of all, sorry for the topic (mods)...

So i took delivery of my second hand car, S6 C7 avant.
Somehow i overlooked both items but

*Looks like the panoramic roof seal is dying. Car is only 2,5 years old but the seal looks like it has been on there for 20 years!
Am i mistaken but is this common and part of the TSB (read in the past there were issues with most pano roofs on all platforms of audi.
Going to dealer tomorrow, since the car is still under warrenty i hope they can adress it.

*Apperently overlooked this one too...or it happend at the bodyshop that rebuild my car too light van (removing of backseats).
But the reverse camera lens (protective lens? wide angle lens?) is busted.
I haven't looked it up yet, but i fear there are no replacement lenses and the complete unit needs replacement.
    Maybe somebody knows more....
Neadless to say, camera works but offcourse the view is semi faded where the lenscap is broken.

For the rest, so far :p, didn't discovered any other hidden malfunctions. Always a risk buying second hand but so far LOVING the car. Can't wait to and fully daily enjoy driving it.

That roof seal looks really bad. Not sure if it looks like some sort of tear in the rubber rather than it just being dry. Hopefully they should cover it under warranty. The rear camera needs a new camera unit complete with camera as Audi dont sell the lens on its own nor the camera for the rear handle.
Try to get them to cover it under warranty first otherwise there is s way of just replacing the camera unit in the boot handle if your happy to strip it down and get your hands dirty.

Any chance your car has had hail damage? That seal looks like someone damaged it during an install.

    Thanks for the help :).
Since i was cleaning the car and was checking all seals etc...apperently the seal of pano roof is a 'soft' seal and they all look that way (texture).
So looks it's not dying but like you guys mentioned....something or somebody tear it up.
Afaik no hail damage car nor were there any issues before with the pano roof (from what i know or can find back in the cars history).
Maybe somebody tried to clean it and mistaking it for a 'hard' rubber....
Anyway, will try other dealer soon and see what they say but i'm affraid if i want to replace it...the pano roof needs to be removed (for the fixed window part).

Indeed dealer could only provide the complete handle/camera unit (350€).
Found several second hand ones online at decent 150€ range
But i wouldn't mind taking my current one appart and reinstall the camera unit itself (kinda forgot it was possible).
Anybody knows partnumber would be of the camera itself?
According to dealer the unit itself is: 7P6 827 566C
If i may believe ebay seller, this one should do the job (new: 49€)

In worst case i remove the handle tomorrow from my car and check the camera partnumber :)

Yes that camera is the exact one they use in the handle assembly. its not too difficult to disassemble the the handle but you have to be careful not to break the plastic clips. Take your time and very doable.
