Should I or should I not? I have a full trans service kit, fluid, filter, gaskets, etc. and I'm wondering if I should go through with it or not. I've been told no by Audi and a few shops. With that being said I can't imagine that the filter and fluid is still good after all those miles. So I'll appeal to everyone here for opinions.

Audi said the same thing on my B7. I did the service at 108k the first time, and it felt SOOOOOO much better! Then again at 143k, and again, much better. This "lifetime" crap is exactly that.

Hearing all of these high mileage mentions (170k, 143k) is really making me feel better about keeping this car for the next several years. I'm at 52k right now.

I believe you have two different paths to take: complete flush/fill or drain and fill. From what I've read, I would personally do the drain/fill and do it again 1K miles later. This method though costly, as made several of my transmissions run very smoothly with precise shifts and such.
