Degreasing Engine Bay

I have never cleaned my engine bay before and looking for tips/how to on the topic.

I have googled and watched a number of videos about the topic and in classic internet fashion have heard people vehemently argue both sides of what to do/not to do.
Since our engines have their own quirks i thought best to ask you guys directly.

So how do you clean your engine bays? What products do you do? Steps involved? Hose or hand wash? Gotchas? etc etc.

I have a few tricks that I've found work well. I'd hand wash so you wont end up damaging any sensitive parts or end up with any issues afterwards. Most of it is just taking the time. I use simple greens car formula for the greasy stuff. I've found that most tire shine products work amazing for the rain tray / plastics and rubber pieces. You could try powder coating or replacing parts that were showing their age just to keep it fresh. Only thing thats bugging me now is the fuel rail. I'd like to get it polished or nickle plated to clean it up. Hope that helps goodluck!!!
