Guys tell me this SUV ain't one of the baddest thing out here. Saw one yesterday with bronze kinda looking wheels and a slight drop. The jeep was looking wicked.

They do look pretty good, I must admit, but I wasn't impressed during a test drive.

I had one of the 1st Gen Jeep SRT and the ride was rough. Add BWoody springs, CAI, and etc made a big difference.

I never test drove one but I'm guessing they are pretty fast. Was the ride quality bad or performance also?

    JEEP SRT

Pretty awesome sports/track SUV for the price point. I've owned two of them. Here's some pictures of my latest. Traded it in for the S6 that I'm currently building the stage 3 thread on. They are pretty awesome stock but holy crap when you slap a supercharger on that big 6.4 Hemi and properly allow it to breath. Not much can beat it off the line. I put a custom RIPP Vortech supercharger on mine. So for about 5k to 7k you can have 650 hp vehicle with almost 700 torque which will smoke a Cayenne Turbo. My 0-60 times were consistently between 3.5 to 3.7 seconds. Quarter mile about 12.1.
They are putting the Hellcat in them but won't come out till 2018. I couldn't wait so built by own Hellcat version.

Drove one at the SRT track day. It consistently beat both the SRT Charger and Challenger in the road course. The handling and suspension is phenomenal. No clue how they are as a DD.

Not sure what they did to it but there was one at WannaGoFast that trapped a 171mph I believe.
Would have destroyed the RS7! Sounded silent rolling through the pits too.
Just wait for that trackhawk 707hp they have coming out!

Absolutely right. At my SRT track day, I won the autocross event, beat every other car there. Just keep it in first gear and floor. Amazing how the differentials allow a 5300 pound vehicle to reverse pivot around itself.

I did a lap with a professional driver in the Jeep at the VIR in Virginia. Completely amazed at what the vehicle could do. Made me realize I wasn't even pushing mine to its potential even half way.

While I miss it as a daily driver still can't compare to the cornering and drivability of the S6.

Yeah. Those vehicles are complete sleepers. If you drive up to one at a red light. 90% chance they are modified. And if it's the older model, almost 99% chance very heavily modified. The launch controls on them are the simplest ever manufactured. Hit a button, brake, floor the pedal and go. I repeatedly beat just about everything that tried me at a red light. The issue with them though is the engines need to be forged. I'm heavily involved in the forums on the SRT site and a lot of guys are blowing their engines. The compression is already really high on them and the pistons are made of powder. Unless you forge the internals, it's just a matter of time when it blows. I was lucky on mine and tuned very conservatively with modest boost but in the back of my mind I always wondered if it was going to blow on a hard pass. One of the reasons I ended up trading it for the S6.

Damn, I really under estimated this JEEP SRT. I will really like to see one against a GT-R A.K.A Godzilla! But the first generation was designed nice , and the second generation is like it mutated to just urgggg! The only other nice looking SUV is it he cayenne.

This is what I wrote after my SRT test drive:

-Price: $72K for a moderately-optioned SRT was a complete shock to me.
-Performance: Not nearly as fast as I thought it would be, nor did it handle the way I expected. The 5400+ lb. curb weight really takes its toll.
-Sound: LOUD - like REALLY LOUD, both inside and out. Way too loud for a DD, IMO.
-Interior: Front seats, ambiance and toys pretty nice. Back seat was completely flat, uncomfortable, and looked like it belonged in a $25K vehicle, not a $72K vehicle. I couldn't imagine putting friends or business associates back there - embarrassingly bad, IMO.

No disrespect to anyone who owns one, or who likes them - it's a cool vehicle, but isn't for me.

I had one for a little over a year, and while it does look nice and perform well for a SUV, it's quality left a lot to be desired. I had it in the dealership 8 times for multiple days, issues ranging from fender flares falling off to transmission bucking to the final straw of the starter going out and leaving me stranded. There were more issues that were resolved poorly, or in the transmissions case never resolved. Remember you still have to take the SRT into a dealership that normally works on a lot cheaper cars, and it is treated as such with oily finger prints on the paint and door panels when you get work done.

Not even going into the panel fitment or flashing on the plastic trim pieces that will cut you.

I got an early build unit, so that could account for some of the issues, but the dealership experience was ultimately what led me to sell. I tried 3 different dealerships, driving an hour to avoid ones I was having trouble with, but just ended up with the same headaches.

I've owned both gens as well. GenI was awesome, fully modded with a 175 shot. Gen II was heavily modded but hated the ride.
