Titanium wheel repair - the diamond cut portion

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I curbed my wheels today and want them fixed. Has anyone tried finding matching paint for the diamond cut area?

Diamond cut wheels are often referred to as 2 tone wheels due to the dual coloured finish on them.

In a nutshell, the wheel is first painted then either the spokes or rim (or both) are skimmed on a

diamond tipped CNC lathe giving a polished silver finish, before a powder coat lacquer is applied.

This type of wheel is most commonly seen on Mercedes, VW and BMW's, in particular MK5 VW Golf GTi

    and BMW E46 M3.

Found this place selling paint but seems it's for the anthracite portion.

If any of you have repaired at the Audi dealership, did it match well and do you know what was done? I think they just contract the job out to mobile repair guys.

I had my Ti wheels curbed by the previous owner with much worse damage than that. The entire polished face on one whee was scratched. The wheel repair guy did an amazing job and the only way to tell was if you were inches from the wheel itself. I wish I had pictures but sadly I don't. That should be relatively easy to repair.

Mine have been redone fully. They don't match the texture, however, there is a slight clear coat and I actually like how it looks better.

One of mine was curbed from the previous owner also and the wheel guy did a great job matching everything up. You pretty much have to be within 5 inches of it to notice it and it's still hard to see.
