    Vibration/shudder help needed please.

CVT, 2.0T. 94k miles. At about 80 mph i have a pretty bad vibration/shudder that goes thru the car.

Engine speed has nothing to do with it, I've popped it in neutral and messed with RPMs.

I've tried applying brakes of various strengths, stays constant, can even feel the shudder in the brakes.

Around corners, like on the freeway/highway, it gets a little better.

I can't tell if there's an associated sound, none to my ears anyway. No horrible grinding that I can tell.

Am I looking at wheel bearings?

Please help. Next week I'm needing to drive from central Texas to Idaho.

    Thank you in advance.

You're description is kinda like someone who just called frantically on the phone about something bad. However....

what have you done or had to the car recently suspension, tire, or wheel wise?

check all your suspension components.look t your upper control arms for rips and tears on the boots and bushing. look at tie rods for same rips. check for leaking axles. look at your tire wear is is bald on one side or inner. look if you are missing wheel weights. and worst case scenario a bent wheel. oh and wheel bearings can go bad too but that's more like a humming sound. and axles is more like a POP sound.

    No popping. No humming.

I was side swiped about a week ago, had that wheel checked out today. Walmart guy said, "it was one off." About balancing.

I've replaced the passenger side half shaft. I made sure everything was torqued down correctly. Both sets of CV boots.

I had the front rotors turned because they were warped.

I'm taking it in to NTB tomorrow, finally had someone take pity on me. So we'll see how that goes.

Thanks all for the help. And if you still have ideas feel free to share.

First of all is 2016 brotha who really gets their rotors turned lol. You buy new rotors and that's it. Second you take your car to a walmart guy? Those people are incompetent. Take it to a real tire shop. Discount tire. Tires plus. Pep boys, tire kingdom. Get a lazer balance. Road force. 3rd there is no 3rd i ran out of things to say

It honestly sounds like your wheel needs to be rebalanced. dalmatian is right, take it to a better wheel shop to get rebalanced. Also, by side swiped you mean someone bumped into you or actually hit you? What kind of damage or how hard (speed other was traveling approximately?)?

Not very hard. I honestly don't think it's damage to the wheel. I'm hoping at this point it's out of alignment.

    And the winner is...

    Rear rotors warped.

BTW, NTB treated me great. So I'm going to roll with it like it is until i get the time and money to fix.
