Angry Anyone VAG-COM San Jose Area? 99.5 AEB 1.8T Random Cutoff/No-Start

    Hey Guys,

1st real post thanks for all the great info.

I think I need Vag-Com Help... but here is the intel

My 1.8T is doing a random no-start/Cutoff, I've searched a lot of varying opinions about the cause.

    Symptoms:

Big bump in the road= Momentary cutoff two times last week

Yesterday died at a light, opened hood, poked around, started back up ran fine.

battery terminal very oxidized, first 2" of the Battery lead to passenger side also corroded, cleaned and taped up very well, started and got me home fine.

parked at home, 2 hours later no start, left key on, opened hood 30 seconds engine systems fired up unannounced, started and made it to the grocery store and back with 1 momentary cutoff.

    runs perfect otherwise...

TT Race Cat and Full Exhaust/K04S/GIAC/Supporting Mods/Red Top Coil conversion.

also recently changed the door lock computer and pump with one from the Audipumps dave.

Im very confident in the coil conversion wiring, followed the instructions to the T and my Boeing engineer buddy did all the tinning.

the Check engine light is always on due to the TT Cat, haven't installed the o2 spacer yet.

when the engine dies all the lights except the battery light turns off on the dash including the CEL

    Bad ignition switch?

    Computer Tits up?

Crank Pos? this wouldn't power the dash down would it?

    Any help appreciated.
