Radiator fan turns on when car is off

Came out of the gym and heard a noise but didnt sound like my car so i didnt bother to worry. Got home in the garage left car for 30 min and come by and the radiator fan is running. Started the car for a bit the turned it off and fan turned on again about 1 min after the key was out. Key goes in and not full startup, fan turns off. Pulled the fuse so it doesnt run over night. Played with it for a bit and for the most part its on again ina min, but another time it was 10 min.

    Solution??

Did you check your coolant temperature?
Probably the fans thermostat (relay switch) is slowly giving in but just a wild guess, maybe nothing is wrong with the fans thermostat and your water is cooking due to a faulty pump thermostat?

I drove it last night to see if it is drivable and all temps were fine. Everything seems good other then the fan turning on. Ibtried to open up the ecu box but it has the one screw that needs a flexable bit. But it looked dry from what i can see. Is that where the relays are? Or are they under the dash? Some other posts point to the fan control module on the radiator, bot sure how to test if its that or not.

    Update today
Drove the car and the fan didnt appear to turn on at all. Temps never got over 100. So im a little concerned about that. Ca.e home tonight and started the car and fan started right away....

More ideas? Gotta be the control module i'd think.

Also worth noting that it hasnt turned on again after the key is out.

I reckon a faulty fan control module is the best bet.

Been 3 days and the problem hasnt reoccured. Maybe some water snuck into a connector or maybe i have some electrical part on the way out and is just fine right now. Either way car is running great.

Got a new golf r on order to either replace the rs4 or join it in the garage, depending if i get the money i want for it.
