Double din questions navigation vs non navigation

What's the difference? I know there is a big price difference but can't you use Google maps or some sort from the non navigation versions? Just curious cause I want to upgrade my oem navigation unit RNS-E with bose and steering controls. I want a 7" touch screen with navigation Bluetooth talk and streaming capabilities and since I'm a android user.. something that can use those functions. I'm not a stereo head so I'm totally lost on what to look for.

The difference is that a non navigation unit is unlikely to have a GPS antenna, so no you can't use Google maps on there. You could look into some of the Android based head units, there is a fairly long thread in the B7 A4 section that would likely provide all the info you need.

Sorry, antenna is the wrong word. I should have said GPS receiver/radio inside the head unit itself.
