Air bag light on after seat recover

SOB, Just had my passenger side seat base (no the back) recovered and the air bag fault light is still on the dash. It was obviously on while I had the seat removed from the car, but I presumed it would go out as soon as I plugged it back in. Bloody thing took me a good hour to bolt in and re-attach all the trim pieces properly.
The question of course is, is the plug connection or something the upholstery did?

Scanning the airbag module with VCDS should pinpoint the fault code causing the light and possibly allow you to clear it. I think I remember that this could happen with seat removal (light has to be reset) but I'm not 100% on that.

Yes if the ignition was on at any point while seat was unplugged it will store the error. You need to reset airbag

Thanks, I will run the codes and reset tomorrow. Would have been a PITA to remove again. I will be super happy to just do a code reset.

Reset the air bag code, but the light stayed on. Looks like the seat will need to come out again for further investigation.
PTA my laptop with the VCDS has crapped out, so I can not read or reset anything now.
