OEM exhaust vs OEM sports exhaust - RS5

    Hi Guys!
Tell me what the differences in sports stock exhaust from the usual standard exhaust?
    If I understand the true test, the sports exhaust is below these numbers: 8T0 253 611 B & 8T0 253 612 B
And what numbers have the conventional standard exhaust RS5?
Is there a difference in sound?
Does it make sense to replace the usual exhaust RS5 on OEM sport exhaust RS5?

    thank you for your opinion!

The sport exhaust has a deeper sound and exhaust flaps. I have the sport exhaust and love it: quiet when you need it and loud when you want. If my car had not been equipped with the sport exhaust, I would have purchased a Capristo or Akaprovic.

just go for an aftermarket exhaust or add AWE Non res downpipes. I have heard them paired with the non sports exhaust and it was def an improvement

Different mufflers I believe, but trust me its not worth going from Non sports to sports exhaust.

Unless you really need to ability of turning the exhaust from quiet to a little more rumbly, I would not spend extra for the OEM sport exhaust and just put the money towards a Capristo or Akrapovic system. The sport exhaust is a different muffler design that has a direct flow path that can be shut off remotely through the MMI via a vacuum actuated valve.

I thought both the OE and OE sport exhaust have valves?

One thing I noticed on an OE (non sports) exhaust in the dealership, the silver oval exhaust tail pipe has perforations on the inner lining which will act as sound absorbing material. The black sports exhaust is just a smooth metal liner.

I don't know if non-sport exhaust has valves too. It could for cold start up purposes but I don't think there's a way to control it via MMI. I remember reading on one of the aftermarket exhaust company's literature that if you don't have the sport exhaust system, then you would need to buy the separate controller to work the valves on their system but if you did, then it would be plug and play.

So the chrome tips are resonated whereas the black ones aren't. Interesting.
