Hey guys, thanks in advance for the help.
I'm reaching out as a new owner of a 2014 A5 Premium... Last cars have been an 2009 S4 and a 2005 A4; I'm extremely familiar with these cars and do my own work.
I went with the Premium because it was the right price and a 6 speed which has been a pain to find here in the midwest!
That said, my main disappointment is the car has Halogen headlights. (These are still an option in 2016???)... Anyways. I bought 2 2014 Xenon headlights from a donor A5 Premium Plus, LED DRL, Xenon, etc... Ballasts and everything included.
I want to switch out the halogens to the xenons I have but wanted to see where to start, I know on the pre-facelift conversion there are wiring harness adapters required, but with the 2014, both headlights seem to be plug and play. The adapters on the xenon Units plug directly into the halogen / stock connectors but theres no light when I test functionality.
Questions:
1) Is this just a matter of a reprogram? If so what modules should be reprogrammed? I have VAGCOM and VCDS.
2) Do I need to rewire or buy adapters? Kufatec?
Anyways, I haven't seen this done yet and wanted to see what it will take. Thanks everybody!!
