    There is way. I took mine off for the full black out. You just have to be very careful and separate ALL the plastic trim/shroud apart. It is basically held by a bunch of tabs and a few screws in places. Then you will be able to take out the LED strip (or what is just a round plastic tube).

    Tip: Before you put everything together, make sure you power your headlight installed and see of you like the focus of the cutoff line. I had to refocus the lenses by using small washers in the projector that holds the lens to the main body. Since the lens has a slightly different shape, the focus is altered.
    You definitely have bigger balls and more patience than me. I tried to take the different shroud pieces apart but decided to give up before I was going to break any of those tabs. I managed to undo the plastic ring that goes around the lens, and the side piece that sits above the amber reflector. I painted the rest of the shroud as is.
