One of my front door speakers in the has a horrible vibration which I'm going to look at... Out of interested anyone know if the Bose door speakers are plug and play using the same cables if it's just the doors that I change?

I'm not sure about the door speakers but the same issue happened to my standard subwoofer speaker in the trunk a few weeks back. I simply got a Bose subwoofer bass box on ebay and replaced it. Works fine with my standard A7 setup.

Ah that's good to hear I can see door speakers for around £100 each here or buy the whole kit for £400... Wondering what's required in a full retrofit.

Has anyone done this on a c7? Heard additional wiring is needed

I don't think the Bose speakers are anything to write home about. They are OK but not nearly up to par with the upgraded Bose in my Cadillac CTS. Clarity is OK, nothing super crisp. The Bose system in my S6 is lacking in some lows and especially mid range bass, and others here have written about this as well.

I agree with hubris. Bose car speakers don't sound too different from standard really. I've heard better sound from Herman Kardons in my wife's Mercedes. Bose should just stick to their LifeStyle home theater setups... Now those are good

It's all about slapping their brands on these systems, none of the systems are great. I'm sometimes shocked at how mediocre my B&O system sounds. If I were the original owner I'd be pissed.

I have a monoprice 5.1 set up at home. Kicks ass. The bose in the car sounds better with lossless audio.

If you have the base audio, then you can't upgrade to Bose without running MOST fiber optic cables. That's how the Bose and B&O systems communicate.
The cost to do this would be so prohibitive that you're probably better off just selling your car and buying a new one with the better stereo.

You other option is to upgrade to aftermarket audio.

Thanks for the comments everyone, there's a company that can do a retrofit for £2.5k over here but you can get all the parts for £400 excluding the wiring.

Looks like aftermarket is the way to go then based on sound quality!

Right, had the cover off and yeah the speaker is terrible... thought it may have been a rattle. Considering this was a new speaker 14 months ago i'm pretty mad about it as it was replaced under warranty.

Anyway... so has anyone done a speaker install yet on this platform, wondering if aftermarket ones will fit ok considering a bigger magnet.

Hopefully going to my local audio place tomorrow for them to provide some suggestions

Wow first time seeing photos of your setup. That is absolutely phenomenal. It looks so STOCK! I think this is way out of most people's budget or abilities, but how did you fab the tweeters and housings for large speakers up front?

My friend Russ is an amazing installer. The custom kick pods and A pillars are made of fiberglass.

Wow that's a great install but maybe a bit too much for what I was looking at, I'm just wanting to replace the oem ones
