RS7 walked it of course (why else would it be posted here ). As cool as 911s are, I have never heard an exhaust on one that impresses me. Such an unpleasant sound!

Something happens to the 911 shortly after the launch. You can see it bog down in the video and by the time the driver sorts it out, the RS7 is gone. I can't imagine a RS7 completely obliterating a tuned 911 Turbo in that fashion, unless there is significant driver error or some sort of launch problem.

Looked like the 911 went into limp mode or something out the gates...

In fairness, there are a lot of tuned 911s in the 10s and quicker. Shouldn't be that drastic of a difference. A stock 997 turbo S can turn a 10.9.

Oh I'm sure your car is fast. But unless you've got some deity propelling you with warp speed power, you're not demolishing a tuned 911 in that fashion. Something very clearly goes south with the 911 shortly after the race starts.

Pretty regular occurrence. "Just another day at the office"

For a 911 turbo to keep up, they'll need bigger turbos.

I'm an Audi guy so don't take this the wrong way, but 911 Turbos are nothing to sneeze at. With just a tune and exhaust, the 991.1 Turbos are running 10.2 to 10.4 in the 1/4 mile.

I agree the 911 had an issue in the first race but the RS transmission is the widow maker and makes all the difference

I agree. The pdk turbos are extremely fast! And almost none is left stock, especially the ones that participate in various racing events.

But in real street conditions beating an rs7 is extremely difficult. Real world traction is almost unbeatable. Most of the other cars need special tires, prep work, etc etc...

Are you saying a non straight line race between an RS7 and a 911 Turbo goes to the RS7? Or are you saying the RS hooks up better than the 911? Just looking for clarity. :)

In most cases from a straight line the rs7 is very hard to beat. From a course point of view, porsches rule. Before the rs7 I was tracking 911s for 4 years.

Porsches are a surgical tool in terms of handling. The rs7 is a sledgehammer!

Exactly! When I had mine, people would ask if it was fast (uh....yeah). I explained it was faster than most, but by far not the fastest of cars around. I did tend to say it would likely handle as good as any around though.

I still believe the 991 chassis in Turbo S trim is amazing. Expensive...but amazing.

I just got the RS7 and it is a beast, extremely fast and methodical w all wheel drive quatro, the 911 however is unbeatable for the combination of speed and handling. I am not crazy about what they call its iconic design but handling is extraordinary. Just not realistic as an every day car for someone with family, the RS7 can do it well.

The RS7 in the video is really slow too, he definitely was only half throttling it, and the 911 definitely had an issue, not a good video for either car.

On a track the tuned Porsches are hard to beat, they can take corners much easier due to their size and lower weight. However in a straight race I can see the RS7 spanking a 911. When I took my RS7 to the track the Porsches would catch up and be waiting to pass me, granted I'm less experienced than most at track driving so that might be just me. However after I let them pass, the very next straight away I'd have to wait and ease off the throttle so I didn't run into the back of them. Not saying 911s slow by any means, just as others said, it doesn't have the traction to accelerate as fast on a straight as an RS7. Really impressed me how they handled, and changed my views on Porsches in a positive manner. So track with curves Porsche wins, very straight track RS7 wins is my opinion. Street race, all RS7.
