Can the ZF 6-speed TC handle basic power increases?

    I have an 07 2.0t with the 6-spd auto.

I have a basic 91 octane APR tune but looking to add an HFC and supporting APR tune. How do these ZF trannies hold up to slight increases in power? I am already getting some throttle pulse when it's really cold outside.

If this has been beaten to death, I will go back to the googles.

No issue. I've been on a K04 file for the last 4 years without any hiccup. You will need to do basic maintenance on it though. What mileage are you? If you're greater than 80k (some will say 60k), get your transmission fluid drain and filled, and change the filter. Doing this regularly every 30k will ensure it continues to work well and shifts smoothly and quickly.

Also, from everything I've read, skip the APR tune and go for JHM's tune. Everyone who has driven it has said it is fantastic and blows away the competition.

I would LOVE to go to the JHM tune but I have the stage-1 thus kinda stuck on that tune unless I want to forget the cash I already spent on APR. REALLY wish I could return the tune because it hasn't done me much in performance. I get excellent fuel economy with 34mpg highway, which I never got before the tune.

I have 105K and just ordered the fluid and filter for the change. I'm a big advocate to the 30K mile ATF changes!

From what I'm hearing, you probably want to forget that $550 you spent on the APR and switch over. Even on my K04 tune, I get ~32 mpg highway.

I first changed mine at 108k (Audi kept trying to dissuade me but I finally just did mine at 108k) and haven't look back. It felt THAT much better.
