Mechanic Recommendations - Morristown, NJ (brakes)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I brought my car in for service at Paul Miller Audi and they quoted me $1200 to replace my front brake pads and rotors. Anyone know of a reputable independent mechanic in/near Morristown, NJ that would be more reasonable?

I've searched and seen a couple of threads but they were all from ~4 years ago - so I was hoping to hear of some more recent feedback.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mechanic Recommendations - Morristown, NJ (brakes)

I started a thread about dealer options which ended up including some good recommendations for independent VW/Audi shops. You can check it out here, but the general consensus seems to be that Eurotech in Mahwah and Drive Auto Works in Mountainside are two of the best options. I've personally used Eurotech and highly recommend them. If you just take a look at the pictures of their shop and the cars they work on through social media, you'll probably have a pretty good idea of the work they do. They also have very reasonable rates. Mahwah is about a 40 minute drive from you, but I'd personally consider it to be well worth the drive.

It sounds like others have also used Drive Auto Works and shared good feedback, but I don't have any personal experience with them yet.

I would recommend Drive Auto Works in mountainside. Dion and the guys over there are top notch, I always bring my car there when I need some work done.

Slightly off topic, how much should that cost? I need to swap pads and if it's crazy I'll just get a vagcom and Jack...

Our Clifton shop might be a bit closer to you than Mountainside, but yes, give us a call or shoot us a PM and I'll be happy to give you a quote.

Wound up going with Drive Auto Works in Mountainside. They were able to fit me in for a Saturday morning appointment and took care of my front brakes/rotors. Much more reasonably priced than my dealership. Cool shop - lots of nice cars around.

I definitely plan on going back to Dion and his crew when I need the rears done or other maintenance work.
