I can get my hands on RS4 DP's cheap....but do they fit my car?

Reason for buying is to clean out the pre-cats and make my own piggies....

Just gut your S4 DP, the RS4 won't fit

I wanted to send them away for gutting and still drive the car......and the removal process sounds tough...like "pull engine-tough" :)

It's not that hard to remove them... easily done within 1.5hrs total (including the gutting) if the shop's already done it a couple of times. It will likely take you 4-5hrs if you DIY and be free.

B5 RS4 was a turbocharged V6, B7 S4 is a v8. The designs are completely different. You'll be in far more pain if you buy the RS4 downpipes versus piggy piping your own. Really, when you think about it, the easiest part is gutting the cat. It'll be easier to take yours off, gut them on a bench, and reinstall than it is to uninstall b7 cats and shoehorn in b5 cats, because you know its an exact fit. B5 is going to involve cutting and welding.
