Bluetooth Module - Stock microphone swap with aftermarket?

    Hey Guys,

I've had the bluebooth module with my RNS-E for the past year or so. Whenever I use it, people I call complain that it's hard to hear me, and at times there is a lot of interference / noise. I know on the highway it seems that it's really difficult for people to hear me clearly, and it's somewhat okay on normal roads in the city (50mph or less).

Is it possible to reposition the mic / get a better newer mic out of a newer Audi?

Not sure what solutions are out there and what people have tried, or if B7 owners who have this option from the factory experience the same issues.

Anyway, just looking for some opinions / advice from people with the same setup.

    Thanks!

This is common to the OEM Bluetooth. Mine sounds the same way and people comment I sound quiet on the other end. The audio level output is low and turning up the volume only has a limited effect. Probably sme thing for the mic input level. I believe you can access mic level through VagCom although I haven't tried. I've also seen where someone spliced in an aftermarket microphone and mounted in down on the steering column. They claimed it worked better than the OEM stock location but YMMV.

You can turn it up in VCDS. I have OEM BT and people rarely complain they can't hear me. I get it some, but not often. If you have VCDS I'll look up what I tweaked to get more volume.
