    Engine failure

Well my second 4.2 is no longer functioning. I believe it was timing again. It's a long story but I'm going to court with the dealership who was doing the repairs. I can get more into that later but what I'm wondering is what is the cheapest way to make my car see at least 300hp again? Too attached to it and can't imagine selling.
I've been thinking about either 4.2, 3.0tfsi, 2.7tt, 1.8t, or even a vr6. If anyone has done any or has any input it would be greatly appreciated

have you thought about a turbo 3.2 VR6 ? might be a good swap if you have lots of free time (and money)

that would be preferred just not sure about how much work installation would be compared to the others. Don't need to make 600hp...yet

If it's cost effective that would be incredible. Not sure any ls v8's would fit

That 2.7tt swap summary was exactly what I've been looking for. Hard to find specific facts with swapping into the s4

I really want to see the 3.0t from the B8 swapped into our platform

    - B7 avant, 3.0t swapped
    - B8 S4, Stage 2+
    - B6 S4, not stock
    - B5 S4 Clone, built motor, 2871r

Been looking at donor cars of all models vw and audi. Do I need an automatic? How much of the car do I really need? So many questions

I was about to do it when my old engine took a dump but then i came across the engine that i have now and decided to keep the v8. 3.0t is possible and it wouldnt be too hard to do. 2.7tt are great engines but for our platform arent the best. B6/7 are much heavier than b5s so if you want to see real gains youd have to go ko4.

    All Over!

I would go with an 077 series 4.2 V8 40V. Ultra reliable, the 079-series V8 4.2 40V on the other hand, is one of Audi's least reliable engines.
